I mentioned cookery lab notebooks earlier - for the record, this is the Field Notes book that I keep in my kitchen where I write down what I did with my coffee.
How odd; just tried to make a comment on your latest interesting post and DW wouldn't let me actually post it. hmmmn ...
--- The phrase is "older and wiser" and yes, I very much agree. Love the minds like sharks idea too. I'm alleged to be 55 (I don't believe it, but mother insists that she was there at the time so) and I sincerely hope I'll never stop *wanting* to learn.
Some of those points are, of course, a result of having one's own place or being single, which makes one far more self-resilient.
I was thinking about resilience as a feature of getting older, and I have to say that, while it's certainly a useful quality at times, at other times it can mean that one just doesn't change as a result of events. Because one is tough enough not to have to. Withstanding the hard times without being deeply affected may mean also not being affected when one should be.
